FORT MYERS, Fla.- Reporter and Chef Andrew Scheinthal is firing up the WINK News kitchen with a Texas Turkey Bean Chili. It serves five people. Here's what you'll need: 

  • 1 cup chopped red onion
  • 3 jalapenos or 2 habanero peppers (depends on how much heat you want)
  • 1 1/4 pounds ground turkey 
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste
  • chili seasoning
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 can cannellini beans
  • 1 can red beans
  • 1 can diced tomatoes
  • chicken broth
  • chopped fresh cilantro


 - Cook the onions and peppers, then add the turkey. Once the turkey is cooked, stir in the tomato paste. Then add in the drained beans and the whole can of tomatoes (including the liquid).  Stir in the chicken broth and 1 bottle of beer. Sprinkle with Cilantro and add in seasoning. Serve with chips and / or corn bread
