NAPLES, Fla.- A 90-year-old-man nearly died after being left out in the heat for several hours.

Deputies say staff at the Aristocrat Nursing Home on Immokalee Rd. put Robert Bernard outside in his wheelchair around 2:00 p.m. yesterday.

When they found him outside three hours later, he had a temperature of 105 degrees.

Bernard had a sun burn, was severely dehydrated and went into cardiac arrest.

The Florida Department of Children and Families is investigating the incident.

They tell WINK News there have been prior reports involving the nursing home but had no indication of abuse or neglect.
