ISLES OF CAPRI, Fla.- Voters on Isles of Capri are deciding today if they'll keep their fire department or merge with the East Naples Golden Gate district.

The merger would mean nine firefighters lose their jobs.

East Naples Fire Chief Kingman Schuldt says the Isles of Capri station costs $1.5 million a year to run.

He says if the fire districts merge, the station will cost about $800,000 a year to operate.

However, the Isles of Capri firefighters say residents won't get better service.
