CAPE CORAL, Fla.- Cape Coral Police are investigating a a deputy-involved crash involving a 15-year old student.

According to officials, Austin Dukette was traveling on his bicycle along Kismet Pkwy. this morning when his back tire was struck by a Lee County Sheriff's Office deputy.

Dukette, who was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, was ejected from his bicycle and landed on the road.

He was airlifted to a hospital in Tampa with life-threatening injuries.
