NAPLES, Fla.- The Park Shore neighborhood will start recording vehicles as they come and go along a portion of Gulf Shore Blvd.
These cameras are also installed in other Naples neighborhoods and security experts say they have been successful in deterring crime.
The cameras will be installed in 2 weeks and will capture your vehicle and license plate .
Mayor John Sorey says if something happens in that area on a certain time and day, police will be able to view the footage for evidence.
"These cameras are not linked to anything else, the data stays in the camera for 30 days and then it's destroyed," Sorey said.
Al Scott, the owner of the security company that installs and operates the cameras, said he has put up several in other neighborhoods like Port Royal.
According to Scott, the homeowners associations who have invested in the technology so far are happy with their results.
