PINE ISLAND, Fla.- Florida Fish and Wildlife released additional information into a fishing accident that killed 68-year-old Walter Sharp yesterday. Sharp died after getting caught in a fishing net in the water about a half mile east of Picnic Island, between Pine Island and Sanibel.

Investigators say Sharp fell into the water after drifting into a manatee speed sign. That sent him overboard and into the net.

Lola Cobb, who was also onboard, was eventually able to pull him back onto the boat.

WINK News spoke with a witness who said he saw paramedics try to revive the Sharp.

"I saw the gurney out on the dock before and about 10 minutes later and you could them doing CPR on the man and then they put him in the ambulance," said Jim Branca.

Investigators believe Sharp died from cardiac arrest.
