CAPE CORAL, Fla.- Cape Coral Police are investigating a strong-arm robbery that happened at Walgreens, located at 2409 Santa Barbara Boulevard S., just before 1:30 p.m.

The suspect walked around the front of the store until the last customer left. He then approached the register and began to purchase a pack of gum.  When the cashier opened the register the suspect reached across the counter and began grabbing money from the drawer.  The cashier attempted to stop him and the suspect shoved her away. The suspect fled with an undisclosed amount of cash and the gum.  The suspect was last seen running across Santa Barbara into the Publix/Target parking lot.

There were no reports of weapons.

Cape Coral Police Patrol, Traffic Units, and Aviation are in the area looking for the suspect who is still at-large. The public will see a heavier-than-normal police presence in this area as we continue to look for the suspect.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic, dark-skinned male, about 25-30 years old, 5’-5’3”, 150-160 lbs, short dark hair with dark “bushy” eyebrows, and a clear stone lower lip piercing.  Suspect had his tight khaki pants on, and was wearing a dark shirt with a white symbol and was wearing a red or orange t-shirt underneath.  Suspect also was wearing a red/white/blue hat with an American flag heart on the front.
