FORT MYERS, Fla. -  Deputies say Todd Nelson was trafficking, manufacturing and possessing marijuana. His wife also faces charges, because deputies found two pounds of pot inside her closet. Deputies found the elaborate grow house in a barn behind the couple's home on Pangola Drive.

It was Tuesday afternoon when Lee County deputies arrested both Todd and Brenda Nelson after investigators found pound after pound of marijuana on the couples property.

Deputies say Todd was growing the drug in an elaborate operation. Special lighting, 3 climate controlled rooms, scales,  fertilizer, even security cameras were found on the property.

"It doesn't surprise me at all," says Judy Serio, a former neighbor of the two. "Just seeing the way he was, it didn't seem like anything he did was going to be good or legal."

After finding the grow house in the barn, deputies searched the couple's home and found marijuana in vacuum sealed bags in a closet.

As of Wednesday night, Brenda Nelson has been released from jail, Todd Nelson still remains behind bars.  The couple has two children and deputies have notified the department of children and families.
