COLLIER COUNTY, Fla.- Investigators arrested Alfred Russillo yesterday on accusations that he was running a gaming room for gambling purposes at Castaways Backwater Café.
Russillo is the owner of the restaurant, located at 2025 Davis Blvd.
Wink News has exclusive video of agents from the Division of Alcoholic Beverages and Tobacco raiding the business on Thursday.
According to the Collier County Sheriff's Office report, Russillo allowed his employees to pay customers who win on the machines. State agents say they also witnessed Russillo playing a game and getting paid by his employee.
Our Wink News crew went to the address listed for Russillo. He never came to the door, but a woman who claims she's his wife confronted our crew in her car and started screaming at the camera. The woman drove her car so it would block the exit gate to the neighborhood and block the Wink News crew inside. Within minutes, the line of cars grew and so did the woman's voice.
"I didn't ask you to come," said the woman. "Why are you on my property. It ain't my restaurant."
But, this was the same woman who was at Castaways Thursday and told our news crew that agents took video games out of the restaurant.
Through the ordeal at the neighborhood, Russillo was watching from his car down the road and filming the incident with his cell phone. A deputy talked with the woman and let the Wink News Crew leave.
Russillo bonded out of jail and Castaways is open for business.
