NORTH FORT MYERS, Fla.- The Florida Division of Alcoholic Beverages and Tobacco (FDABT) served a search warrant at Bayshore Billiards yesterday, and made two arrests after an investigation revealed illegal gambling was allegedly taking place there.
Investigators arrested the owner of the business, Kathleen Weyrauch, and one of her employees, Patti Capezzuto.
Five casino-style gambling machines were taken from the business.
Weyrauch is accused of allowing her customers to use the machines and her employees to pay patrons from money inside the cash register of the business.
According to the arrest report, an undercover agent was able to use a machine to gamble in January, and was paid winnings by an employee. At that time, Weyrauch was given a written and verbal warning from the FDABT.
An undercover agent was reportedly again able to gamble using the machine in February, twice in May and another time in July. On three of those occassions, Capezzuto allegedly paid the agent with money from the cash register.
Weyrauch and Capezzuto were yesterday and taken to the Lee County Jail.
