COLLIER COUNTY, Fla. - WINK News just got the 911 call from the night a Sheriff's Office crime scene van was set on fire in Collier County. Deputies arrested 21-year-old Colton Smith on a felony charge of arson for setting the fire.

The burn marks from where the van sat are still on the driveway on Orange Grove Trail. The Sheriff's Office tells Wink News a deputy brought the crime scene van home for work when Smith set it on fire.

Caller: I don't have a fire extinguisher. Its inside the van.

Dispatcher: Is it fully engulfed?

Caller: The very front end, the hood of it is where the flames are. The rest of the van is ok so far.

Collier deputies say they caught up with Smith after the call came in and that he smelled of gasoline. Reports also show that Smith had the gas cap to a gas can in his pocket, linking him to the scene.

The Sheriff's Office tells Wink News there are twelve crime scene vans in their fleet and that they don't store any evidence inside. So, the fire won't compromise any investigations.

Smith is still in jail.
