COLLIER COUNTY, Fla.- Tonight, the public will have a chance to weigh in on plans to merge two Collier County fire departments.

North Naples and Big Corkscrew Island Fire Departments say merging would save about $2.3 million in the first five years.

The savings would come through in cutting four chief officers and an administrator. Those positions would be replaced with 10 new firefighters.

If you would like to offer input on consolidation, there is a public hearing tonight from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Collier County library on Orange Blossom Drive in North Naples.
