FORT MYERS, Fla.- Fort Myers Police are investigating shots fired at the intersection of Broadway Avenue and Braman Avenue around 11:00 a.m. today.

A single round had been shot into the tailgate of the victim's truck, while he was driving eastbound on Braman Avenue. The victim said a younger white or Hispanic male was responsible.

Further investigation revealed the victim was attempting to pass a group of people who were loitering in the middle of the roadway when the suspect in the group became agitated. As the victim drove past, the suspect pulled a handgun from his shorts and fired one round into the tailgate of the truck. The suspect then fled on foot.

No one was injured.

Detectives continue to investigate.

The suspect is further described as approximately 20 years of age, 5’8” to 5’9” tall wearing a black tank top and tan colored shorts. The suspect had short black hair and light facial hair.
