The teen accused of killing a homeless man on Saturday has a mixed reputation in Cape Coral.
Family members of 13-year-old Yoel Munoz describe the teen as a "good boy" who would "never do anything violent."
Another woman, who knows Munoz and his family well, said the boy has displayed his violent behavior on multiple occasions, and is in need of help.
"I could have pressed charges against him," the woman, who does not want to be identified, said. "I should have done it. I think to myself, 'maybe if I had, this wouldn't have happened.'"
Munoz's parents told WINK News they believe there is someone else responsible for the stabbing murder victim Thomas Bergstrom. They said they believe a police investigation will reveal what they call the "truth."
WINK News asked Munoz's mother, father and brother if they believed the boy used drugs. They said he did not. The family also said they had no knowledge of the boy having any gang involvement, despite what Munoz told police himself.
