CAPE CORAL, Fla. - Cape Coral residents are picking up the pieces after a strong storm Saturday evening.

One of those residents is Geraldine Lane, whose fence blew from her yard on NE 13th Terrace, all the way to Del Prado Blvd.

Lane and her family are OK.  She told WINK News the strong wind gusts that destroyed her yard only lasted for about 60-90 seconds.

"Our house was trembling, our windows were shaking and my granddaughter was crying," Lane said. "It was extremely scary. My heart was racing."

Lane and her granddaughters took cover in a bathroom until the storm passed.  She did not see a funnel cloud, but several WINK News viewers did report seeing one in the area.

The National Weather Service is yet to confirm whether or not a tornado touched down.
