CAPE CORAL, Fla. - 14 CiCi's Pizza locations have teamed up with local law enforcement to help raise funds for Special Olympics Florida in an event with a fitting name.

For just $1 you can buy a Special Olympics logo and paste it on a police car, with the goal being to not only raise money but "Cover the Cruiser." CiCi's Pizza will also donate 10% of their Thursday sales to Special Olympics Florida.

Special Olympics provides people with intellectual disabilities the opportunity to showcase their capacity to develop skills that have value beyond training and competing in sports,” said Special Olympics Florida President and CEO Sherry Wheelock. “By partnering with forward-thinking organizations like CiCi’s Pizza, we are able to transform lives and build inclusive communities of dignity and respect across Florida.”

Participating CiCi’s Pizza restaurants are in Tampa, Jacksonville, Kissimmee, Orange Park, Kenneth City, Lakeland, Greenacres, Port Charlotte, Cape Coral, Deerfield Beach, Brooksville and Ocoee.

The Cape Coral Police Department and CiCi's Pizza in Cape Coral kicked off "Cover the Cruiser," early Thursday morning on WINK News This Morning. You can stop by your local CiCi's and participate from 11:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. 7:00 p.m.
