FORT MYERS, Fla.- Investigators have closed a case of alleged voter fraud in Fort Myers, and authorities will not file charges.

FDLE and the FBI looked into an unprecedented amount of absentee ballot requests for the September primaries.

They found 144 requests came from just three IP addresses that belong to Christine Matthews, who was running for Fort Myers City Council.

Matthews won the primary substantially and currently sits on the council.

The State Attorney's Office said there is insufficient evidence to prove wrongdoing.
