COLLIER COUNTY, Fla.- The Florida Forest Service has contained a 50-acre brush fire on Woodland Grade Rd. One home was damaged, and nine others were evacuated.

The call originally came into authorities at 2:45 p.m.

According to the East Naples and Golden Gate fire departments, windy conditions and dryness caused the fire to jump a canal.

The cause is unknown.

Brush trucks and a helicopter also assisted. A Lee County strike team is mopping up spot fires.
