CHARLOTTE COUNTY, Fla.- The Charlotte County Sheriff's Office is seeking information on the whereabouts of a 17-year-old girl who may be headed out of state to be with a 23-year-old man.

Amanda Herrarte-Madrid was last seen at her home in the 21000 block of Meehan Avenue in Port Charlotte on Friday around 3:00 p.m. She is described as being 5 ft. 5 inches tall, weighing about 100 pounds with long brown hair and green eyes. She was last seen wearing a green top with blue stripes and blue jeans.

Amanda only speaks Spanish and is not familiar with Charlotte County. She is thought to be with or trying to get to Boris Fernando Morales Alvarado, 23, possibly of Houston, Texas. She may be trying to go to either Houston or Los Angeles, California, possibly by bus.

Because her family only recently moved to Charlotte County, it took some time for relatives to obtain and provide these photographs of Amanda and of Alvarado. Amanda has been entered into a national computer system as a missing/runaway juvenile.

Anyone with information on the location of Amanda Herrarte-Madrid or Boris Fernando Morales Alvarado is asked to please call the Sheriff’s Office at (941) 639-2101, or, if outside of Charlotte County, the appropriate local law enforcement agency.
