CAPE CORAL, Fla.- A suspect violently attacked an elderly woman in Cape Coral in an attempt to steal her purse yesterday, but the victim fought back by biting her assailant.

In the surveillance video, you can see the suspect literally pulls the victim to the ground by her purse, inside the Publix on Del Prado Blvd. S. in the Coral Pointe Shopping Center.

Police are still trying to find the suspect.

For the first time, we're hearing the 911 call made just moments after the attack. The Publix store manager actually made the call after it all played out in the front of his store.

The victim walked into the store, when Cape Coral Police say a woman in her 20s asked for $1 to get a drink. When the two go to the vending machine, the victim holds her purse in front of her and that's when her attacker tries to rip the purse from her hands. The two land on the ground, and that's when the victim actually bites her attacker, who then ran away without getting anything.

The manager described the suspect as being a young woman with long brown hair and a thin build. She was wearing shorts and got into a black pickup truck.
