CAPE CORAL, Fla.- Cape Coral Police are looking for the woman responsible for trying to steal an elderly woman's purse at Publix, located at 1631 Del Prado Boulevard South, this morning.

The victim had just finished loading her groceries into her vehicle when she said a young female approached her and asked if she could have $1 for a drink. The victim walked back into Publix with her to buy her a drink from the vending machine, when the suspect grabbed the victim's purse and attempted to pull it from her grasp.

The victim held onto her purse and the two fell to the ground. During the struggle, the victim bit the suspect, who then stood up and fled into the parking lot.

The victim ran out into the parking lot, yelling that she had been robbed. A witness took out his cell phone and took a photo of the truck that the suspect was getting into. According to the picture, Cape Coral Police believe it was a black, four-door, Ford Explorer Sport Trac. The suspect got into the passenger side. The driver appeared to be a white male.

Police describe the suspect as a white female in her early 20s, with a thin build and long hair. She appears to have a tattoo on her upper right arm.

The elderly victim sustained minor injuries.
