FORT MYERS BEACH, Fla.- The Lee County Sheriff's Office has released the identities of the three individuals struck by lightning on Fort Myers Beach yesterday.

The man who died on the scene has been identified as 41-year-old Scott Wilcox of Lehigh Acres.

Deputies say Scott Wilcox was killed instantly, as a bolt of lightning smacked the beach, despite a bystander's attempt to give him CPR.

Deputies say 14-year-old Zac Latawiec and 16-year-old Chelsea Gill, both of Lehigh Acres, were taken to a local hospital for treatment.

Family members tell WINK News Chelsea is walking, talking, and has been released from the hospital.

Zac's stepfather says Zac is in a medical induced coma.

Doctors say Zac was without oxygen for quite some time, so doctors say he could face brain damage.

The families are not ready to speak publicly, but are asking for prayers and donations during this difficult time.

Zac's stepfather says the three were running to the car for cover, when the lightning got too close.

The Latawiec family says Webster's Grill in Fort Myers is collecting donations for hospital bills.
