FORT MYERS, Fla --- A local restaurant is collecting donations for 14 year old Zachary Lataweic.

Lataweic is currently in a coma at HealthPark Hospital.

Lataweic's mother works at Webster's Grill, on Cypress Lake Drive in Fort Myers, and her job is the family's only source of income. His father, Robert, is currently on disability.

Danita Lovins has worked there for several months now, and co-owner Vera Irvin considers her family.

Irvin tells WINK News, it was actually a customer's idea to start a donation jar. She says Danita is beloved by everyone, for her cheery spirit.

So far, the response has been overwhelming, with people putting $50, even $100 dollar bills.

The donations will be used to help pay hospital bills.

Irvin tells WINK News, "it really restores your faith in humanity. We are just all here to support her and the family. Hope Zac gets better."

Family members have also started a go fund me account online, called "Please help Zachary."
