LEE COUNTY, Fla.- The Lee County Sheriff's Office is investigating an armed robbery that happened in traffic on Pine Ridge Rd. and Gladiolous Dr. yesterday around 4:00 p.m.

According to the incident report, the suspects got out of a white car and approached the victims' car. One of the suspects had a firearm in his hand, while the other approached the passenger's side with a knife.

The victims said the first suspect tried to take the keys and some money from the vehicle, but was unsuccessful, so he struck driver in the head with his fist.

The other male asked what the passenger had, and when the victim pulled out house keys and a cell phone, the suspect took them.

They allegedly then got back into their vehicle and fled down Gladiolus Dr. The victims called 911 from the 7-Eleven at McGregor Blvd.

Deputies did find a similar vehicle in the Harlem Heights area and detained the occupants, but the victims did not identify them as the suspects.
