COLLIER COUNTY, Fla.- "You always hope you're going to find who youre looking for and be able to reunite them with your family."

It took nearly 31 hours of searching over the weekend before crews in Collier County finally reached Paul Charles Gunther. The 48 year old Golden Gate Estates man who has Down syndrome vanished Friday afternoon. The Sheriff's Office shot this night vision footage before the search.

That's the voice of Corporal Ken Newell. On Saturday, he was in charge of the camera and search equipment 500 feet above the ground.

"I personally saw that area searched with blood hounds so I believe it was possible Mr. Gunther had been moving through the woods, trying to find a way out."

Between deputies and firefighters, almost 200 people took part in the serach in hot, dangerous conditions along with several bloodhounds. At times deputies even came close to bears. Gunther's medical condition was very important during the tense hours.

We're told he's known to be friendly and approachable with law enforcement, so they were hoping he would see the flashing lights and come to them. Late Saturday night, just before 10, deputies found Gunther sitting cross-legged in the woods.

"Well done Joe and Ken , good job guys."
