LEE COUNTY, Fla.- Lee County Sheriff's deputies arrested Latrice Luster and Timothy Henderson, both 19, today for aggravated child abuse after their 5-week-old infant suffered serious skull and leg injuries.

Detectives were called to Health Park Hospital on June 26 regarding the baby's injuries. Emergency room staff and Dr. Lambert, the Director of Miami Children's Advocacy Center, had established that the infant had sustained acute skull fracture and an acute right femur spiral fracture, according to their arrest report. The Department of Children and Familes was notified.

On June 28, detectives met with Henderson and Luster at the Lee County Sheriff's Office headquarters for separate interviews. Their interviews were both redacted from the report, but LCSO did say that Henderson declined a polygraph test, and Luster stopped the discussion after a while and said she wanted a lawyer.

On July 3, Dr. Lambert told detectives that "no one single event could cause the injuries sustained by the victim."

Based on sworn statements from family members, friends, witnesses, medical staff and DCF workers, coupled with the fact that the child was in Henderson and Luster's care at the time, probable cause existed for their arrest.
