COLLIER COUNTY, Fla.- Lightning is to blame for a house fire that displaced a family at 3095 Andrews Ave. this morning.

Everyone got out of the home safely, after lightning hit the bedroom and attic of the residence sround 11:00 a.m.

Ten people lived in the house, including five children. Four were at home during the fire. The family had lived in the home for 15 years. Red Cross will be assisting them.

The family lost a couple of birds, due to the smoke and heat. There were reports of eight to ten birds in total in the home, according to the East Naples Fire Department. Four dogs were also inside, but were rescued.
