MARCO ISLAND, Fla. - If you've ever wanted to be a mad scientist, now might be the perfect time to try it out and make a mess somewhere else.

The Greater Marco Family YMCA, is continuing their summer camp series with one that lets you make some mad scientist concoctions of your own.

Campers will learn the pro's and cons of a variety of experiments, seeing what goes wrong and what turns out just right. From pop rocks balloons to rainbow jars, even the occasional "explosion."

The mad scientist summer camp runs through Friday the 18th, drop-ins are welcome for $25 and $20 for Y members.

Several other camps at the Y run through the beginning of August, highlights include: Teen Extreme Travel Camp, British Challenger Soccer Camp, Competitive Swim Camp and Seibukan Karate Camp.
