COLLIER COUNTY, Fla.- Collier County deputies are channeling their inner pop star. The Sheriff's Office just posted this new music video online, singing along to the hit song "Safe and Sound" by the band Capital Cities.

It took a few weeks to create, but with Corporal Efrain Hernandez behind the camera, the Sheriff's Office has a new tool to reach out to the community.

"We're working together with our partners in the surrounding agencies plus the community that were trying to keep Collier County a safe and sound place to live."

That of course comes straight from the song's title and lyrics. Corporal Hernandez said many of these scenes were shot while deputies were working on patrol, in the air, and out on the open water of the Gulf.

"We don't want to take them away from their duties so what we do is we go out and when they're available we'll shoot it as fast as possible this way they can go back to their daily routine."

Hernandez hopes the video's message is heard loud and clear.

"It's kinda entertaining but at the same time we want everybody to know that we do live in safe community but we do have to take the precautionary methods to protect ourselves."
