COLLIER COUNTY, Fla.- "Not rude but too friendly, the way he was looking up and down you know."

That's how this Golden Gate woman describes a creepy encounter in her neighborhood last week. She tells only WINK News, it started when a suspicious man drove up and asked a group of people including children for directions.

"While he was asking me questions he was kinda sassing me, you know, so I kinda felt weirded out."

He started pulling away but then suddenly stopped and began talking to a group of kids, the oldest of them an underage teen girl.

"He was trying to get her name, he asked her oh sweetie what's your name and she was like oh this, and do you live around here and she was like yeah I live around here, she was like weirded out. Oh do you mind if I talk to you or stop by sometime yeah if I'm around."

That woman rushed over, told the man to get lost, then called 911. She said he's white, in his 70's with long blonde and grey hair and glasses. He drives a four door sedan, from the late 90s, in an eggplant color.

"It was a little weird that it happened around here."

Security experts tell WINK News, things like this can happen anywhere to anyone, and children should never engage the person.

"If they're not successful and they don't get a reaction out of you, they're probably going to go around the corner, they're not going leave the entire area and look for somebody else."
