TAMPA, Fla. (AP) - A Tampa man accused of kidnapping his children and fleeing, along with his wife, to Cuba is going before a judge for another competency hearing.

Joshua Hakken's mental competency has been at question since April 2013 when he and his wife Sharyn Hakken took the children from their grandparents' home and fled to Cuba on a sailboat. A hearing is scheduled for Thursday in Tampa.

The Tampa Bay Times (http://bit.ly/VOdGR5 ) reports a majority of doctors who've examined Hakken have declared him insane and at least one found him incompetent to stand trial.

During a hearing in June, Circuit Judge Chet Tharpe postponed the couple's trial to October and ordered a fresh psychiatric evaluation of Hakken by the same doctor who found him incompetent to stand trial.
