FORT MYERS, Fla.- Ford's Garage is making history! The Southwest Florida-based restaurant now has rights to the Ford Motor Company logo. WINK News sat down with the vice president of the Kearns Restaurant Group to find out how this branding partnership will benefit the restaurants.

The name Ford's Garage will live on and likely grow. The restaurants, known for their Model T's and iconic photos, will be expanding now that the Ford Motor Company agreed to sign the deal.

"It's the attention to detail inside Ford's Garage that I think really enticed Ford Motor Company to partner with us," said Vice President of Kearns Restaurant Group, Zak Kearns.

The 20s-themed service stations are famous for their burgers, but now, Ford's Garage has the support from the major car maker.

"The sky's the limit for us right now. The growth possibilities are endless for us," Kearns told WINK News.

Signatures give Ford's Garage the historic rights to the car giant's iconic blue logo.

"We worked out a mutual deal that's agreeable for both parties. It's something that worked out for everybody. There was never fear of us having to close."

The new trademark will allow for Ford's to expand. Kearns says they still want to remain small, but now that the deal is sealed, they will be exploring new areas to take those Model T's and iconic photos to other parts of the U.S.

"We are meeting with the international brand manager with Ford Motor Company, which is pretty exciting, to explore possibilities to building a restaurant in Dearborn area."

And with all the history complied inside the restaurants, the name Ford's Garage is making history by partnering up with the Ford Motor Company.

"It's the first licensing deal ever made pertaining to a bar. They have over 400 licensees; we're the only one that's a restaurant and bar."

The next Ford's Garage is expected to open in the Tampa/Sarasota area.
