FORT MYERS, Fla.- The road is back open on Cleveland Avenue from MLK Blvd. to Johnson Street after an early morning crash sent two people to the hospital.

Fort Myers Police tell WINK News a bread truck crashed into the pole head on, while heading south on Cleveland Avenue around 3 a.m.

Two people inside the truck were taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

The crash closed down a portion of Cleveland Avenue for a few hours while police investigated and crews cleaned up the road.

The truck also took out an electrical box which powers several lights poles along the road.

The crash is under investigation but alcohol and speed do not appear to be factors.
