CAPE CORAL, Fla. -- Friday afternoon, thousands of people will file into Cape Coral for the annual Red, White, and Boom celebration.
It's southwest Florida's biggest Independence Day event and this year, it's expected to be full of patriotic fun.
Organizers say the fun will begin at 4:00pm at the foot of the Cape Coral Bridge.
Several live bands will be here, including local favorite Blackwater and Bluezrockerz band.
Remember the event is expected to be well-attended, so parking will be an issue.
However, officials tell WINK News, a trolley service will be available to people parking in the downtown area, you can park your car at Club Square, Iguana Mia, Sweetbay, and Big John's, and from there, a trolley will pick you up.
Then don't forget about the big finale, the fireworks show will start at 9:30pm.
A note to drivers the Cape Coral Bridge shuts down at 6:00am for the Centurylink-Prism Freedom 5-K, and the bridge stays closed for the annual celebration. It will re-open at 3 a-m Saturday.
Anyone attending is asked to remember: no coolers, pets, fireworks, or outside alcohol is allowed.
