COLLIER COUNTY, Fla.- Collier County Sheriff's deputies arrested 48-year-old Nicolas Lagunes-Barradas on Saturday after he allegedly assaulted a 3-year-old.

The child was taken to Naples Community Hospital for internal bleeding.

The victim told deputies and a caseworker from the Children's Advocacy Center that Lagunes-Barradas hurt her, according to the arrest report. She said that he assaulted her in his bedroom and gave her chewing gum when the act was complete.

Medical findings during the exam and sexual assault kit were consistant with the victim's story.

Lagunes-Barradas was arrested for sexual battery and remains in jail with a $500,000 bond.
