NORTH FORT MYERS, Fla.- The Fort Myers Amateur Radio Club hopes to further the hobby of ham radio. It's the first line of communication during an emergency if the power is out and traditional communication is gone. The Club provides educational opportunities for new hams and those wishing to upgrade their skills in amateur radio.

The Club sponsors an annual Hamfest and participates in the annual Field Day event, happening this weekend.

This exciting 24 hour long event is open to the public. You can see how many contacts you can make for the club. This is also a great opportunity to learn about this exciting hobby. Field Day is in cooperation with the ARRL and Lee County Emergency Management.
