MIAMI (AP) - Police say the motive in a shooting that killed two and injured seven others was likely revenge or drug dealers staking out turf.

The shooting happened early Tuesday in Miami's Liberty City neighborhood.

Authorities say 30-year-old Kevin Richardson and 26-year-old Nakeri Jackson died in the gunfire.

The Miami Herald (http://hrld.us/1iIS2Yt ) reports two gunmen pulled up to a small apartment building and began shooting high-powered automatic weapons as more than a dozen people stood outside the complex. More than five dozen bullet casings littered the area. Bullets tore through windows and doors.

Miami Police Chief Manuel Orosa says two neighboring housing complexes have been at odds for years over drug-run street corners and the shootings were likely "a retaliatory shooting or over something that happened before."

The investigation continues.
