NAPLES, Fla.- A rare reptile rescue played out in a canal near Naples.

A family was boating through a busy waterway near Dollar Bay when they spotted a sea turtle struggling in the water.

With the help of Collier Sheriff's deputies, they were able to pull the roughly 200-pound turtle into the boat and get it to safety.

"It was a cool experience for the whole family to see this creature that we probably won't see again, and being a part of trying to save its life," said Paul Thein.

The turtle is recovering at the Clinic for the Rehabilitation of Wildlife on Sanibel.
