LEE COUNTY, Fla.- For the first time since a fiery crash killed three people this weekend, we are hearing from the father of one of the victims.

The crash happened about 10:00 on Saturday night on Treeline Avenue at Bavaria Road.

Of the three killed, at least one was a teenager celebrating his birthday.

A very emotional father talked about his son, Joseph Mercelak, who he says died along with two friends, in a fiery crash on Treeline Avenue Saturday night.

Joe's dad shared pictures and some of his memories with us. His father said Joseph was kind, caring and had a lot of friends. He said he was like a big brother to everyone he met. Joseph volunteered with Habitat for Humanity and was an all-star athelte. His dad said his best memories were watching his two sons on the football field together at Evangelical Christian School.

Joseph's car crashed into a utility pole and snapped it in half. The car burst into flames.

In a letter to parents from John Hunte, the headmaster at Evangelical Christian School, he said the crash "claimed the lives of three of our students, Joe Marcelak (class of 2013), Jonathan Valentin (Class of 2014), and Jordan Sadler (Class of 2014)." The school also plans to create a fund for the families, and said those interested in donating to it, could designate any gifts in the school business office.

A prayer service will be held in the ECS gym on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. for students and families.
