FORT MYERS, Fla.- Some people in Fort Myers had an exciting weekend when they spotted a black bear walking around their neighborhood. The cub was seen walking alongside homes near McGregor Boulevard. The excitement had people stepping out of their houses to get a closer look.
FWC came out to the scene, and said their policy is usually to leave the bear alone, but when crowds gather, they have no choice but to relocate the bear. Regardless, many residents said they felt better about the bear being relocated.
FWC officers said the equipment they needed wasn't actually in Fort Myers and had to be transported down. They also determined the bear showed no aggressive tendencies, and said they didn't believe the bear was a threat to the people.
