FORT MYERS, Fla.- Today, wildlife officials are performing necropsies on two dolphins found on Fort Myers Beach yesterday.

Officials tried to rescue the two dolphins near the fishing pier. Bystanders helped pull the dolphins from the water, but neither survived.

The FWC says it's rare for this species of dolphin to be so close to shore. Officers say the dolphins usually travel in pods.

They're looking for more distressed dolphins, but have not found any.
