LEE COUNTY, Fla.- Governor Rick Scott is kicking off his College Affordability Tour in Fort Myers today, talking about his plans to help lower college tuition and make education a priority.

The Governor kicked off his first campaign stop of his college affordability tour in Estero this morning, just outside of Florida Gulf Coast University. The Governor spoke to a packed house, full of students and local business and education leaders, taking pride in reversing tuition increases signed into law by his opponent Charlie Crist.

The Governor also highlighted how making college more affordable is better for current and prospective college students and also puts them on a track to a successful career and future, something the Governor and students are excited about.

"I want to make sure every child can afford their educatio,n whatever country you're from whatever family or zip code, and then once you're finished, I want to make sure you can get a job. And that's what we're doing. We're gonna hold the line on tuition. We're gonna make sure everybody can get a job in our state," said Governor Rick Scott.

"I'm excited that my prices aren't gonna go up for the next year. Being a senior, I've seen it go my first year and now for the last three it hasn't," said Sam Lashin, an FGCU senior.

The Governor is also proud of his job numbers, creating 600,000 jobs in the past three months. He'll kick off day two of his College Affordability Tour tomorrow in Miami.
