COLLIER COUNTY, Fla.- The Office of the Clerk of the Circuit Court has received telephone calls from Collier County citizens in the last two days who have received an email titled “Notice to Appear” from someone with the title “Clerk of Court.”

The Clerk’s office has verified that this is a widespread email scam and advises anyone who receives the email to delete it immediately without opening the attachment. Citizens are reminded to never open an email attachment without first verifying its authenticity, as it could contain a computer virus.

The “Notice to Appear” email scam is not associated Clerk of the Circuit Court’s office, and, therefore, there is no need to contact the Clerk’s Office regarding this matter.
