LEE COUNTY, Fla.- The Lee County Sheriff's Office arrested a husband and wife on Friday after their children were found living in unsanitary conditions, with drugs present.

Dan Bobier called the authorities to his home, due to animal remains being found on his property. According to his arrest report, he told the responding deputy that he exited his residence and found a severed rear end of a cat lying in his front yard.

Lee County Animal Control took over the investigation.

As the deputy questioned Dan Bobier, he reportedly struggled to recall the details of the event. He appeared to be under the influence of something. His two children were also on the scene. The report says one was sweaty and crying as she sat in her car seat on the concrete, drinking orange juice out of a cup with flies in it.

Dan Bobier invited the deputy and animal control officer into his home, where they found dirty dishes, baby bottles, pots and pans, various clothing, medium-sized roaches and flies throughout the house. Two dogs were sitting on the carpet, which was stained with urine and feces.

The home allegedly smelled strongly of marijuana, though Dan Bobier denied that there were drugs in the home. The deputy then saw Zig Zag rolling papers, foil and buds of marijuana on the kitchen counter. Dan Bobier then spontaneously said that the items were his, again according to the report. He was arrested.

Contact was made with Susan Bobier, who was at work at the time. The Department of Children and Families was also notified, and an investigator responded to the scene.

After Susan Bobier arrived home and spoke with the deputy, she was also arrested.

The children were turned over to a family member.

Susan Bobier faces charges of contributing to the delinquency of minors. Dan Bobier faces charges of contributing to the delinquency of minors, marijuana and drug equipment possession.
