PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla.- Charlotte County Sheriff's Office detectives are attempting to identify a man who may have taken a gold and diamond ring from a local pawn shop in April.

According to reports, a man, possibly named Carl, went to Port Charlotte Gold and Pawn, located at 2271 Tamiami Trail, on Friday, April 25 and asked about a gold and diamond ring. The man told store personnel that he would be back later that day with the money to buy the ring.

While he was at the business, the man allegedly made a call to his hotel/motel, so he may be from out of town. He was driving a silver SUV when he left the store. The man did not return with the money and, when they checked their inventory, the business personnel found that the ring was missing.

Detectives assigned to the case need to identify the man and speak with him about the ring. Anyone with information on the identity of the man is asked to please call the Sheriff’s Office at (941) 639-2101.
