CAPE CORAL, Fla.- Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers is asking for the public's help identifying two young women who broke into a van in Southeast Cape Coral early Monday morning.

According to detectives, surveillance cameras captured images of the two suspects walking up to two cars parked at a SE 8th Street home at 1:53 a.m. After trying to gain access to one car, which was locked, the women turned their efforts to a second car in the driveway, which was unlocked. Both women rummaged through the van, taking a purse, wallet, cash, gift cards and other miscellaneous items. While one of the women was still searching the car, her partner in crime noticed the surveillance camera attached to the home, at which point both women left on foot. They were both seen standing at a nearby intersection, going through the purse and dumping items on the ground, while placing others into a backpack. A neighbor found some of the stolen items, however the cash and gift cards were taken by the two thieves.

Anyone with information on the identity and whereabouts of these women are asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-780-TIPS (8477). All callers will remain anonymous and will be eligible for a cash reward of up to $1,000.
