FORT MYERS, FL - Nirvana Martinez may be small in stature, but she has the heart of a lion. The young girl and her mother had just returned home on Friday afternoon from McDonald's when Nirvana heard a banging noise at the back door. With her mother in another room, Nirvana tried to hide behind a computer desk to avoid being seen by the men. The alleged burglars saw the child and then took off running. The family's cocker spaniel, nipping at their heels. As the men fled, Nirvana began calling to her mother, telling her what she saw. The Lee County Sheriff's Office arrived to investigate, but did not locate the suspects. So Nirvana and her mom got in the car and began driving around the neighborhood. Not long after, Nirvana spots one of the suspects and leads investigators to him and they made an arrest. Now the 17 year old is behind bars charged with burglary. Investigators say there may be another suspect on the loose.
