CORTEZ, Fla. — Four men were rescued from the water after their 28-foot boat capsized Sunday, west of Anna Maria Island.
A person aboard the boat contacted Watchstanders at Coast Guard Sector St. Petersburg, reporting his boat was taking on water with four people aboard and everyone had a life jacket. Watchstanders then lost communication with the man and issued an Urgent Marine Information Broadcast.
A boat and a helicopter were launched to search.
Upon arriving on scene, the crew located the capsized boat with four people clinging to the hull. The four men were safely recovered from the water and transported ashore with no reported injuries.
