COLLIER COUNTY, Fla.- Hugs, tears, and heavy duffel bags. For some of these girls it's their first time on a plane, first time away from home. Together they make up the Wellfit Girls Challenge and will face the ruins of Machu Picu together.

"I'm excited."

"Our first meeting we met here and it feels like it was yesterday."

For the last five months, they've trained both physically and mentally for the next ten days which they'll spend in Peru.

"It's been really fun and different."

On Wednesday, the fun really starts. They'll immerse themselves in the Peruvian culture and take part in service projects. Along the way, their experiences will be filmed for a documentary. Jill Wheeler, Founder of the Wellfit Girls Challenge calls it a movement more than a movie.

"And by the telling of the story of these girls, the unraveling of their personal story of empowerment becomes an inspiration for other girls to do the same," said Wheeler.

And not only do the girls say they've sen a change in themselves, but their parents have noticed differences as well.

"More enthusiasm, she's livelier, just the whole package is better."
