LEE COUNTY, Fla.,- A Lee County man will spend six years behind bars for driving drunk and killing a man on a motorcycle. In court today, William Siddons told the victim's family how sorry he was.

"I'm truly sorry, I will never forget that man for the rest of my life," said Will

William siddons was full of emotion as he addressed the family of Julio Triguero, the man he hit and killed while driving drunk.

"I deeply regret my actions, and I am ashamed," said Siddons.

Triguero's family members wiped away tears as they listened to the apology. The judge had harsh words for the drunk driver.

"You made very poor decisions that day," said Judge Frank Porter.
"Yes, your honor."

Last July, Siddons slammed into Triguero who was riding a moped on Del Prado Boulevard in Cape Coral.

"I don't think you got behind the wheel, the day this tragedy occurred, with the intent to kill anyone," said Judge Porter.

WINK News cameras were there as Siddons surrended his things before going to jail.

His attorney says his client has been exteremly sorry since the crash.

"It was very emotional, it's a terrible tragedy, he owned up to it, accepted responsibility, he's been dealing with this ever since the night of the accident," Attorney Scott Moorey.

Once released from prison, Siddons will be on probation for nine years.
